Dust jacket is near-mint but for a barely discernable crease at head of spine; book is absolutely tight and square, with only former owner's embossed initials on front end paper. Bryson may be the best travel writer cum humorist writing today. This time he turns his roving eye to Australia, the only island that is also a continent and the only continent that is also a country. "It is the driest, flattest, most desiccated, infertile and climactically aggressive of all the inhabited continents. It has more things that can kill you in a very nasty way than anywhere else."

First Edition / First Printing FLATSIGNED copy of Bryson's imitiable new autobiography. Clean, crisp and unread first printing, SIGNED neatly by Bryson to the title page with his name only. In sharp mustard boards, blue spine stamped with gold titles, wonderful pictorial endpapers. The fine dust jacket is almost the same as the day it was printed. The only detectable flaws in the book itself are a small(1/8")"pinch" to the center bottom board edges (a slight indentation on each that makes it appear as if twine or some other kind of bindng wrapped across the bottom of the book at one time), and faint cock to the spine resulting in a wisp of separation between a few of the signatures. Hence,the slightly below-market pricing. Maybe Bryson's best work since A Walk in the Woods.
